From Me to We to Us: An Invitation into the Transformational Presence Ubuntu Listening Circles
“We spiraled into beautiful connections, dissolutions, re-inventions, and re-configurations.”
— Reflection from the Global Gathering
First Thursday of each month, 2 pm ET / 11 am PT / 20.00 CET / 11:30 IST. Free to all who wish to join!
In a world that often pulls us apart, the Ubuntu Listening Circles invite us to remember what it means to belong—first to ourselves, then to one another, and finally to something greater than us all. Ubuntu is more than a word—it’s a way of being. Often translated as “I am because we are”, Ubuntu speaks to a shared humanity, mutual care, and the sacred space where presence, listening, and connection meet.
The Ubuntu Listening Circles offer a virtual sanctuary. Once a month, people from across the globe come together on Zoom to listen—not to respond, fix, or debate—but to witness, sense, and feel what is alive in one another. Through guided meditation, heartfelt inquiry, and deep listening in small groups, we experience something rare: being truly seen and heard, and offering the same in return.
This journey unfolds through three essential layers of presence:
Me – Deepening Self-Awareness
- Who am I beneath the roles I play?
- What am I here to bring into the world now?
In the Circles, we begin by listening inward. Transformation starts from within. As we pause and pay attention to how we meet life, clarity begins to emerge. The more we connect to our own truth, the more authentic presence we bring to the world.
We – Building Connection
When we meet others from a place of openness and humility, something begins to shift. In the breakout groups, we listen beneath the surface—beneath the words and into the energy of what wants to be known. We create spaces of shared presence where courage, curiosity, and compassion flow naturally. This is where healing begins—not by fixing, but by being with.
Us – Becoming Collective Presence
Over time, as we continue this practice, something larger begins to take shape. A sense of us—a living field of community, awareness, and shared humanity—emerges. We become more than the sum of our parts. We become an expression of Ubuntu.
The monthly Ubuntu Listening Circles are free, open to all, and gently guided by Transformational Presence graduates. Each session is 60 minutes long and includes:
- A short guided meditation
- A contemplative question
- Breakout dialogues in groups of 4–6
- A communal closing reflection.
These circles are not a place for fixing or solving. They are spaces for being. For listening. For reconnecting to what matters most. Ubuntu is not a concept. It’s an experience. Come sit in the circle. Be heard. Listen. Belong.
